Photo Essay: Texas Adventures

Every time I go on vacation now, I end up bringing my camera.

I love capturing moments, and finding extraordinary ways to view the everyday.

Because I have family in Texas, I get to travel around it a good bit. These photos capture some of my favorite memories of family vacations in the Lone Star State:

Splashing in my favorite water park, Schlitterbahn, in the small town of New Braunfels.

Looking up at the giant blue Ferris Wheel from the Houston Aquarium.

Capturing my sisters by the sunny beach and picturesque hotel that sit on the coast of Galveston Island.

I love small town sights, from quirky art to streets and signs, it’s the small things that often capture my attention:

Views of the main street in New Braunfels and its old-time cinema-turned-local theatre for children’s musicals.

Discovering the unique details of my New Braunfels’ neighbors, like a metal wreath and a weathered barn door.

Sneaking my camera into downtown New Braunfels best coffee shop so I can get my internet fix and examine the local art for sale on the walls (like decorated wooden crosses!)

Shopping with my family in the nearby town of Gruene, with its antique shops, weekly dance lessons, and the best cobbler ever at the mill by the river.
